Welcome Anton Sentić
Anton Sentić is working as a Senior Researcher at the iimt since October 2017. His focus will be on the smart living lab project, although he will also take part in teaching and thesis supervision in the future. Anton’s research interests are related to Transition Studies, Innovation Studies and Sustainable Development, particularly in the energy and waste sectors.
Born in Munich, Germany, Anton’s education and personal development led him across Europe: following primary and secondary education in Croatia, he completed a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Environmental System Sciences at the University of Graz in Austria. Parallel to his studies, Anton worked as a graduate student assistant and as a trainee on EU-funded projects in the waste management sector.
Following graduation, his traineeship developed into a full-time job, where he was working as Project Associate and Project Manager on multiple projects. After a few years, he decided to move on to London, where he studied for a doctoral degree (PhD Business) at the University of Greenwich, graduating in 2017 with the research topic “Development of sustainable energy technologies in changing institutional and socio-political contexts: the case of combined heat and power in the UK”.
In his free time Anton enjoys cycling, playing badminton and training martial arts. He is also an avid reader, and likes travelling, especially when he can combine either with his interest in history, particularly the history of technology. Anton is very much looking forward to his work with the iimt and the opportunity to utilize his skills and interests for the development of the smart living lab.
We look forward to working with Anton, and wish him a good start!
